Poaching eggs in an air fryer is surprisingly easy and produces soft, runny yolks with tender whites — no swirling water required! Here’s how to do it right.
🍳 Air Fryer Poached Eggs
You’ll Need:
-
1–2 eggs
-
Nonstick cooking spray or oil
-
2 ramekins or silicone muffin cups (oven-safe and air fryer-safe)
-
2 tbsp water per egg
🔪 Instructions:
-
Prep Your Cups:
-
Lightly spray ramekins or silicone cups with cooking spray.
-
Add 2 tablespoons of water to each cup.
-
-
Crack the Egg:
-
Crack one egg into each prepared cup.
-
-
Preheat the Air Fryer:
-
Preheat to 360°F (182°C) for 2–3 minutes.
-
-
Cook the Eggs:
-
Place ramekins into the air fryer basket.
-
Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 5–6 minutes, depending on how runny or firm you like your yolks.
-
5 min = soft whites, runny yolk
-
6 min = set whites, creamy yolk
-
-
-
Remove & Serve:
-
Carefully lift out ramekins with tongs or an oven mitt.
-
Use a spoon to gently lift the poached egg from the water.
-
📝 Tips:
-
For extra-done whites, let sit in hot water for 1 minute after air frying.
-
Don’t overcrowd the basket — work in batches if needed.
-
You can season the water with a pinch of salt or vinegar, but it’s not required.
