Air fryer poached eggs

Posted on July 29, 2025

Poaching eggs in an air fryer is surprisingly easy and produces soft, runny yolks with tender whites — no swirling water required! Here’s how to do it right.

🍳 Air Fryer Poached Eggs

You’ll Need:

  • 1–2 eggs

  • Nonstick cooking spray or oil

  • 2 ramekins or silicone muffin cups (oven-safe and air fryer-safe)

  • 2 tbsp water per egg

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Prep Your Cups:

    • Lightly spray ramekins or silicone cups with cooking spray.

    • Add 2 tablespoons of water to each cup.

  2. Crack the Egg:

    • Crack one egg into each prepared cup.

  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat to 360°F (182°C) for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Cook the Eggs:

    • Place ramekins into the air fryer basket.

    • Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 5–6 minutes, depending on how runny or firm you like your yolks.

      • 5 min = soft whites, runny yolk

      • 6 min = set whites, creamy yolk

  5. Remove & Serve:

    • Carefully lift out ramekins with tongs or an oven mitt.

    • Use a spoon to gently lift the poached egg from the water.

📝 Tips:

  • For extra-done whites, let sit in hot water for 1 minute after air frying.

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket — work in batches if needed.

  • You can season the water with a pinch of salt or vinegar, but it’s not required.
