Ingredients:

For the Ground Beef and Gravy:
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 2 cups beef broth (or use bouillon + water)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional: 1/2 tsp thyme or parsley for added flavor

  • Optional: mushrooms (sautéed), peas, or corn

For the Mashed Potatoes:
  • 2 lbs (about 4–5 medium) potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 cup milk (or cream, to taste)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


🥣 Instructions:

1. Make Mashed Potatoes:

  • Boil chopped potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15–20 minutes).

  • Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Keep warm.

2. Cook the Beef:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onions until browned.

  • Add garlic and cook another 1–2 minutes.

  • Drain any excess grease.

3. Make the Gravy:

  • Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir well to coat evenly.

  • Cook for 1–2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

  • Slowly stir in beef broth, breaking up any lumps.

  • Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs if using.

  • Simmer for 5–8 minutes until thickened into a rich gravy.

4. Serve:

  • Spoon creamy mashed potatoes onto plates or bowls.

  • Ladle hot beef and gravy over the top.

  • Garnish with parsley if desired.


📝 Tips & Variations:

  • No beef broth? Use chicken or vegetable broth, or even water + bouillon cube.

  • Creamier gravy: Add a splash of cream or sour cream.

  • Stretch it: Add frozen mixed veggies or a can of mushrooms to the gravy.
