๐Ÿง‚ Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2โ€“3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)

  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

  • 1 ยฝ cups beef broth or water

  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 8 oz short pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional)

  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish


๐Ÿ”ช Instructions:

  1. Brown the Beef:
    In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess fat if needed.

  2. Add Garlic & Seasoning:
    Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

  3. Add Liquids & Pasta:
    Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth. Stir in dry pasta.

  4. Simmer:
    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 12โ€“15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and liquid is mostly absorbed.

  5. Add Cheese:
    Sprinkle mozzarella (and Parmesan if using) over the top. Cover for 2โ€“3 minutes until melted.

  6. Serve:
    Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve hot!

  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms with the onions

  • Use Italian sausage instead of ground beef for extra flavor

  • Stir in a handful of baby spinach at the end for a fresh touch
