Corn on the Cob

Posted on July 28, 2025

Here’s how to make perfect corn on the cob β€” whether you want it boiled, grilled, or roasted. Sweet, juicy, and simple β€” just like summer should taste!

🌽 Classic Corn on the Cob

πŸ•’ Prep Time: 5 min

πŸ•’ Cook Time: 10–15 min
🍽️ Serves: 4

🌽 Boiled Corn on the Cob (Classic & Easy)

πŸ§‚ Ingredients:

  • 4 ears fresh corn, husked

  • Water

  • Salted butter, for serving

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

πŸ”ͺ Instructions:

  1. Boil Water:
Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil.

  2. Cook Corn:
Add husked corn and boil for 6–8 minutes, or until kernels are tender. Don’t overcook β€” they can get chewy.

  3. Serve:
Remove with tongs. Slather with butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and serve hot.

πŸ”₯ Grilled Corn on the Cob (Smoky & Sweet)

πŸ”ͺ Instructions:

  1. Preheat Grill: Medium-high heat.

  2. Prep Corn:

    • With husk on: Soak corn in water for 15 min, then grill in husks for 15–20 min, turning occasionally.

    • Without husk: Brush with oil or butter, grill for 10–12 min, turning to char evenly.

  3. Serve:
Top with butter, chili powder, lime juice, or cotija for Mexican-style β€œelote” flair.

πŸ”₯ Oven-Roasted Corn on the Cob (Easy Indoor Option)

  1. Preheat Oven: 400Β°F (200Β°C)

  2. Wrap Corn in Foil:
Place each cob on a sheet of foil. Add a pat of butter, salt, pepper (and optional garlic or herbs), then seal tightly.

  3. Roast:
Place on a baking sheet and roast for 30–35 minutes.

🍴 Fun Topping Ideas:

  • Mexican-style: Mayo, cotija, chili powder, lime, cilantro

  • Herbed butter: Garlic, parsley, thyme

  • Parmesan & black pepper

  • Hot honey & sea salt
