Scored Seasoned Baked Potatoes

Posted on July 27, 2025

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Scored Seasoned Baked Potatoes — a perfect side dish that’s crispy on the edges, tender inside, and full of flavor.

🥔 Scored Seasoned Baked Potatoes

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes

  • 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp dried parsley or Italian seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, bacon bits

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.

  2. Prep the potatoes:

    • Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly.

    • Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise.

    • With the cut side up, score the surface of each half in a crisscross pattern using a sharp knife. Don’t cut too deep — about 1/4 inch is enough.

  3. Season:

    • Place the scored potato halves on the baking sheet, cut side up.

    • Drizzle with olive oil or melted butter.

    • In a small bowl, mix all the seasonings and sprinkle generously over each potato.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and golden brown on top.

    • (Optional: In the last 5 minutes, sprinkle cheese on top to melt.)

  5. Serve hot with desired toppings.

🔥 Tips:

  • For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2–3 minutes.

  • You can also use seasoned salt or your favorite spice blend.

  • Great served alongside grilled meats, roasted chicken, or as a stand-alone snack.
