Here’s a hearty and super satisfying Smoked Sausage and Potatoes Skillet recipe — it’s a one-pan wonder, packed with smoky, savory flavor and perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekend comfort food.


🔥 Smoked Sausage and Potatoes Skillet

🧄 Ingredients:

  • 14 oz smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced into ¼-inch rounds

  • 1 ½ lbs baby potatoes (or Yukon Golds), halved or diced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, but great for depth)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the Potatoes:

    • Parboil potatoes for 5–7 minutes in salted water until just fork-tender, OR microwave with a splash of water for 6–7 minutes, covered.

    • Drain and set aside.

  2. Brown the Sausage:

    • Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add the sliced sausage and cook for 4–5 minutes, until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.

  3. Sauté Veggies:

    • In the same skillet, add another tbsp of oil if needed.

    • Cook onions and bell pepper until softened, about 4–5 minutes.

    • Add garlic and smoked paprika; cook 30 seconds more.

  4. Crisp the Potatoes:

    • Add par-cooked potatoes to the pan. Season with salt and pepper.

    • Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and crispy.

  5. Combine & Finish:

    • Return the sausage to the skillet and toss everything together.

    • Cook another 2–3 minutes to heat through.

    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.


📝 Variations:

  • Add chopped kale or spinach at the end for greens.

  • Try sweet potatoes instead of regular ones.

  • Add shredded cheese on top and broil for a melty finish.
