Here’s a juicy and flavorful Air Fryer Roast Chicken recipe — crispy skin, tender meat, and done in less time than a traditional oven roast!


🍗 Air Fryer Whole Roast Chicken

🍽️ Servings: 4–6

⏱️ Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 50–60 mins (depends on size)


🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 to 4 lbs / 1.5 to 1.8 kg)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 1½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

  • Half a lemon and 2–3 garlic cloves (optional, for stuffing)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels (very important for crispy skin).

  • Rub the whole chicken with olive oil or butter.

  • Mix the spices in a bowl and rub them all over the chicken — don’t forget under the wings and inside the cavity.

  • Optional: Stuff the cavity with a lemon half, garlic cloves, and herbs for extra flavor.

2. Air Fry:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for a few minutes.

  • Place the chicken breast-side down in the basket.

  • Air fry for 30 minutes.

3. Flip & Finish:

  • Flip the chicken breast-side up and air fry for another 20–30 minutes, or until:

    • Internal temp reaches 165°F (75°C) at the thickest part (check the thigh).

    • Skin is golden and crisp.

4. Rest Before Carving:

  • Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving. This helps keep it juicy.

  • With roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad

  • Drizzle with the pan juices or make a quick gravy using the drippings


✅ Tips:

  • Don’t overcrowd: Make sure your air fryer can fit a whole chicken. If not, use bone-in thighs or spatchcock the bird.

  • Use a meat thermometer: It’s the best way to guarantee juicy, fully cooked chicken.
