π₯ Air Fryer Potato Chips
β Serves: 2β4
β± Prep Time: 10 min
β± Cook Time: 15β20 min (in batches)
Ingredients
-
2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold)
-
1β2 tsp olive oil (or spray oil)
-
Salt, to taste
Optional Seasonings:
-
Paprika
-
Garlic powder
-
Chili powder
-
Vinegar powder
-
Parmesan
-
Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
Instructions
1. Prep the Potatoes:
-
Wash and scrub potatoes (no need to peel unless preferred).
-
Use a mandoline slicer or very sharp knife to slice the potatoes thinly (1.5β2 mm).
-
Soak slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 20β30 minutes to remove excess starch (helps with crispiness).
2. Dry and Season:
-
Drain and pat the slices completely dry with a clean towel.
-
Toss with a little olive oil or spray lightly to coat. Add salt or other seasonings.
3. Air Fry:
-
Preheat your air fryer to 160β170Β°C (320β340Β°F).
-
Place chips in a single layer in the basket (you may need to cook in batches).
-
Air fry for 10β15 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through. Watch closely in the last few minutes to prevent burning β chips crisp quickly once they’re almost done.
4. Cool and Crisp:
-
Let chips cool slightly after air frying β they will crisp up more as they rest.
β Tips
-
For extra crispy chips, do a double soak (change water halfway).
-
Store in an airtight container once fully cooled to keep them crunchy.
-
Add seasonings after cooking if you’re using delicate herbs or cheese.
