Here’s a simple and crispy recipe for Air Fryer Potato Chips – no deep frying, just golden, crunchy chips made with minimal oil. Perfect as a snack or side!

πŸ₯” Air Fryer Potato Chips

⭐ Serves: 2–4

⏱ Prep Time: 10 min

⏱ Cook Time: 15–20 min (in batches)

Ingredients

  • 2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold)

  • 1–2 tsp olive oil (or spray oil)

  • Salt, to taste

Optional Seasonings:

  • Paprika

  • Garlic powder

  • Chili powder

  • Vinegar powder

  • Parmesan

  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)

Instructions

1. Prep the Potatoes:

  • Wash and scrub potatoes (no need to peel unless preferred).

  • Use a mandoline slicer or very sharp knife to slice the potatoes thinly (1.5–2 mm).

  • Soak slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch (helps with crispiness).

2. Dry and Season:

  • Drain and pat the slices completely dry with a clean towel.

  • Toss with a little olive oil or spray lightly to coat. Add salt or other seasonings.

3. Air Fry:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 160–170Β°C (320–340Β°F).

  • Place chips in a single layer in the basket (you may need to cook in batches).

  • Air fry for 10–15 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through. Watch closely in the last few minutes to prevent burning β€” chips crisp quickly once they’re almost done.

4. Cool and Crisp:

  • Let chips cool slightly after air frying β€” they will crisp up more as they rest.

βœ… Tips

  • For extra crispy chips, do a double soak (change water halfway).

  • Store in an airtight container once fully cooled to keep them crunchy.

  • Add seasonings after cooking if you’re using delicate herbs or cheese.
