Crispy Onion Cheddar Chips

Here’s a super tasty and easy snack: Crispy Onion Cheddar Chips — crunchy, cheesy, and packed with savory onion flavor. They’re great on their own or as a low-carb alternative to crackers.


🧀 Crispy Onion Cheddar Chips

Servings: ~20 chips
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 8–12 minutes
Total Time: ~15 minutes


🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 2–3 tbsp crispy fried onions (like French’s, crushed slightly)

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

  • Pinch of black pepper

  • Optional: pinch of paprika or garlic powder


🥄 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar, crushed crispy onions, onion powder, and spices.

  3. Drop small spoonfuls (about 1 tbsp each) onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  4. Gently flatten each mound into a circle using the back of a spoon.

  5. Bake for 8–12 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown around the edges.

  6. Let cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes to crisp up, then transfer to a wire rack or paper towel to finish cooling.


📝 Tips:

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days (if they last that long!).

  • Try using parmesan or pepper jack for flavor variety.

  • Serve with dips like ranch, sour cream, or guacamole.

  • Make them mini and use as a crunchy topping for salads or soups.
