🍫 Chocolate Marbled Quarters (Marbled Cake Squares)

Ingredients:

Dry:

  • 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

Wet:

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup (120ml) milk

For Chocolate Swirl:

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1–2 tbsp hot water


Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Set to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease and line an 8×8-inch (20cm) square baking pan.

  2. Make Batter:

    • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.

    • Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt alternately with milk.

  3. Marble It:

    • Divide batter in two bowls.

    • Mix cocoa powder with hot water and stir into one bowl to make the chocolate batter.

    • Drop spoonfuls of each batter into the pan alternately.

    • Swirl gently with a knife or skewer for a marbled effect.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    • Let cool in pan, then slice into quarters—or smaller bars if you prefer!
