Here’s a classic and easy recipe for Crispy Air Fryer French Fries β€” golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and way healthier than deep-fried!


🍟 Air Fryer French Fries

πŸ₯” Ingredients:

  • 2–3 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon gold for a creamier fry)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

  • Β½ tsp salt (plus more to taste)

  • Optional: garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, parsley

1. Cut the Potatoes

  • Wash and peel (optional) the potatoes.

  • Cut into thin, even strips (about ΒΌ inch thick). A mandoline helps for consistency.

2. Soak (Important!)

  • Soak cut fries in a bowl of cold water for 30–60 minutes to remove excess starch β€” this helps them get crispier.

  • Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels.

3. Season

  • Toss the fries in oil, salt, and any optional spices (like garlic powder or paprika).

4. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat to 375–400Β°F (190–200Β°C) for a few minutes (if your air fryer requires it).

5. Air Fry

  • Arrange fries in a single layer in the basket (don’t overcrowd).

  • Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping halfway through.

  • For extra crispiness, increase temp to 400Β°F for the last 3–5 minutes.

6. Serve

  • Sprinkle with more salt and fresh herbs if desired.

  • Serve hot with ketchup, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce.

  • For extra crispy fries: Do a double air fry β€” cook for 10 min, let cool, then fry again for another 5–8 min.

  • Spicy version: Add cayenne, chili powder, or Cajun seasoning.

  • Cheesy fries: Toss with Parmesan and parsley right after cooking.
