๐ฎ Mexican Carne Asada Marinade
๐ฅฃ Ingredients:
-
1/3 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed is best)
-
1/4 cup lime juice (about 2โ3 limes)
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
1/4 cup olive oil
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
-
1โ2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped (optional for smoky heat)
-
1 tbsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp ground cumin
-
1 tsp chili powder
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1 tsp black pepper
-
1/2 tsp dried oregano
-
Salt, to taste (start with 1โ1.5 tsp)
๐ฅฉ Directions:
-
Combine all ingredients in a bowl or blender. If using a blender, pulse briefly until mostly smooth but still a bit textured.
-
Place steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Ensure the meat is fully coated.
-
Marinate for 2โ8 hours in the refrigerator (longer = deeper flavor, but avoid over 12 hours for acidic marinades).
-
Remove from marinade, pat dry, and grill over high heat to your desired doneness. Rest the steak for 5โ10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
๐ฅ Tips:
-
Best cuts: Skirt steak, flank steak, or ribeye.
-
Great served in tacos, burritos, or over rice.
-
For extra char, you can pat steak dry before grilling and add a touch of oil or salt.
