🧈 Classic Butter Cake
🛒 Ingredients (for one 8-inch/20cm round or square cake):

1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

4 eggs, room temperature

1¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour

1½ tsp baking powder
-
¼ tsp salt
-
¼ cup (60 ml) milk, room temperature

1½ tsp vanilla extract
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven

Set to 175°C (350°F).

Grease and line your baking pan.
2. Cream butter and sugar

Beat softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
3. Add eggs

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

Mix in the vanilla extract.
4. Mix dry ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Combine wet and dry

Add the dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the milk.

Start and end with flour. Mix just until combined — do not overmix.
6. Bake

Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Cool and serve

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
