Here’s a simple and delicious Ground Beef and Gravy recipe — comforting, budget-friendly, and perfect for a quick dinner.


🍖 Ground Beef and Gravy Recipe

🕒 Ready in: 20–25 minutes

🍽 Serves: 4


🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef

  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups beef broth (or water + bouillon cube)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Optional: Worcestershire sauce (1 tsp) for extra depth


🍳 Instructions:

  1. Brown the Beef
    In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

  2. Add Onion (Optional)
    Add the chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.

  3. Make the Roux
    Push beef to one side of the pan. On the empty side, melt the butter, then stir in the flour. Cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.

  4. Add Broth
    Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring. Mix everything together and bring to a simmer.

  5. Season & Thicken
    Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5–10 minutes until the gravy thickens.

  6. Serve
    Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or even toast or biscuits.


📝 Tips:

  • Want it creamier? Add a splash of milk or cream at the end.

  • For extra flavor, sauté mushrooms along with the onion.
