DEVILED EGGS

Posted on June 23, 2025
Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer made by hard-boiling eggs, slicing them in half, and mixing the yolks with flavorful ingredients before piping or spooning the mixture back into the egg whites. Here’s a basic recipe:

Classic Deviled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (or Dijon, for a twist)

  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Paprika, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Hard-boil the eggs:

    • Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water.

    • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

    • Once boiling, cover the pan, remove from heat, and let sit for 10-12 minutes.

    • Transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool, then peel.

  2. Prepare the filling:

    • Slice the eggs in half lengthwise.

    • Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl.

    • Mash the yolks with a fork, then mix in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar (if using), salt, and pepper until smooth.

  3. Fill the eggs:

    • Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the egg white halves.

  4. Garnish and serve:

    • Sprinkle with paprika.

    • Chill before serving, if desired.
