Heaven In A Bowl

Posted on June 20, 2025

Heaven in a Bowl is a rich, layered dessert that lives up to its name — think of it as a chocolate and peanut butter trifle loaded with all your favorite indulgences. It’s perfect for potlucks, holidays, or when you just want to impress with minimal effort.

🍫 Heaven in a Bowl (Chocolate Peanut Butter Trifle)

🍰 Ingredients:

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed)

  • 1 (5.1 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 2½ cups cold milk

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

  • 1 cup mini peanut butter cups or chopped Reese’s

  • ½ cup chopped peanuts (optional)

  • Chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce (optional for drizzling)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Bake the Brownies:

  • Prepare and bake the brownie mix as directed on the box.

  • Let cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.

2. Make the Pudding:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk.

  • Let sit for 5 minutes until thickened.

3. Make the Peanut Butter Layer:

  • In a separate bowl, beat together peanut butter, cream cheese, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.

  • Fold in half of the whipped topping (about 4 oz) to lighten it.

4. Assemble the Layers:

In a large trifle bowl or glass dish, layer in this order:

  1. Half the brownie cubes

  2. Half the peanut butter mixture

  3. Half the pudding

  4. Sprinkle half the peanut butter cups

  5. Repeat layers

  6. Top with remaining whipped topping

5. Decorate:

  • Garnish with extra chopped peanut butter cups, peanuts, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

6. Chill:

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

🍽️ Tips:

  • You can sub chocolate cake or crushed cookies if you don’t want to use brownies.

  • Use vanilla pudding if you want a less chocolatey version.

  • Easily make this ahead — it holds up great for up to 2–3 days in the fridge.
