🍯 Honey Garlic Chicken Breast
🕒 Time: 25–30 minutes
🍽️ Serves: 2–4
🍗 Ingredients:
-
2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut in half horizontally to make 4 thin cutlets)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional, for light crust)
-
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
🔥 For the Sauce:
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
-
3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
-
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
-
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
🔪 Instructions:
-
Prep the Chicken:
-
Pat chicken dry. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Optional: Lightly dust each side with flour—this helps form a nice crust.
-
-
Sear the Chicken:
-
Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add chicken cutlets and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
-
Remove from skillet and keep warm (tent with foil).
-
-
Make the Sauce:
-
In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium.
-
Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
-
Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
-
Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
-
Glaze the Chicken:
-
Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
-
Cook 1–2 more minutes, flipping to fully coat in the glaze.
-
-
Serve:
-
Garnish with chopped parsley, sesame seeds, or green onions.
-
Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed veggies.
-
💡 Pro Tips:
-
Don’t overcook the garlic—it can turn bitter.
-
For extra caramelization, finish the chicken under the broiler for 1–2 minutes.
-
Want it creamier? Stir in a tablespoon of butter or a splash of cream at the end.
