Steak fajitas

Here’s a simple and delicious steak fajitas recipe that you can make at home:


🌮 Steak Fajitas Recipe

🕒 Time: 30–40 minutes

🍽️ Serves: 4


🥩 Ingredients:

For the Steak Marinade:

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) flank steak or skirt steak

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Veggies:

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 large red onion, sliced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

To Serve:

  • Warm flour or corn tortillas

  • Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, lime wedges


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Steak:

    • In a bowl or zip-top bag, combine all marinade ingredients.

    • Add steak and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 8 hours in the fridge for more flavor).

  2. Cook the Vegetables:

    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add bell peppers and onions, season with salt and pepper.

    • Sauté for about 6–8 minutes until tender and slightly charred. Remove and set aside.

  3. Cook the Steak:

    • In the same skillet (or grill), cook the steak over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes per side (medium-rare to medium).

    • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain into thin strips.

  4. Assemble the Fajitas:

    • Warm tortillas.

    • Fill each with steak, veggies, and your choice of toppings.


🔥 Pro Tips:

  • Slice steak thinly and across the grain for tenderness.

  • Cast iron skillets work great for a charred, smoky flavor.

  • Add a splash of lime juice over everything before serving to brighten up the flavors.
