AIR FRYER POTATO CHIPS FRENCH

Here’s a crisp and delicious recipe for Air Fryer Potato Chips (French-style) β€” thin, crunchy, and lightly salted just like the ones you’d find in a French bistro, but healthier and faster thanks to the air fryer.


πŸ‡«πŸ‡· Air Fryer Potato Chips (French-Style)

Cook Time: 15–20 minutes

βœ… Ingredients:

  • 2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon gold for a more buttery flavor)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or neutral oil

  • Fine sea salt, to taste

  • Optional: herbes de Provence, garlic powder, black pepper


πŸ”ͺ Instructions:

1. Slice the Potatoes:

  • Peel (optional) and slice very thinly β€” 1.5–2 mm thick β€” using a mandoline for best results.

  • Soak slices in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch (this makes them crispier).

2. Dry & Season:

  • Drain and pat dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

  • Toss slices in a bowl with olive oil and a light sprinkle of salt (and optional seasonings like thyme or garlic powder).

3. Air Fry:

  • Preheat air fryer to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  • Place potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (work in batches).

  • Cook for 12–18 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

⚠️ Tip: Watch closely near the end β€” thin chips can go from golden to burned quickly!

4. Cool & Serve:

  • Let chips cool slightly to finish crisping up.

  • Sprinkle with more salt or herbs if desired.


🍽️ Serving Ideas (French Style):

  • Serve with aioli, Dijon mustard dip, or truffle salt.

  • Great as a side with steak frites, sandwiches, or charcuterie.
