🥧 What It Is:

  • Flaky pie crust

  • Fresh, whole strawberries

  • Sweet, shiny strawberry glaze

  • Best served chilled with whipped cream


📝 Ingredients

For the Pie:

  • 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

For the Filling:

  • 1 quart (about 1½ pounds) fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 (3 oz) package strawberry Jell-O (not sugar-free)

Optional Topping:

  • Whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)

Step 1: Prepare the Crust

  • Bake your 9-inch pie crust according to package or recipe directions. Let it cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Glaze

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cornstarch.

  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened and clear.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in the strawberry Jell-O powder until dissolved.

  4. Let the glaze cool to lukewarm (not hot, or it will cook the berries).

Step 3: Assemble the Pie

  1. Arrange the fresh strawberries in the cooled pie crust, mound them slightly in the center.

  2. Pour the cooled glaze evenly over the strawberries.

  3. Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours, or until set.

Step 4: Serve

  • Top slices with whipped cream just before serving.

  • Let the glaze cool slightly before pouring to avoid a soggy crust.

  • For extra shine and color, lightly brush the top with more glaze after setting.
