Here’s a delicious recipe for Crispy Garlic Mushroom Bites — golden, crunchy, and packed with savory garlic flavor. These make a perfect appetizer, snack, or side dish, especially when paired with a dipping sauce like garlic aioli or ranch.

📝 Ingredients

Main:

  • 16 oz (1 lb) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional but tasty)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried parsley or Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Vegetable oil for frying (or air fryer spray)

Garlic Butter (for extra flavor, optional):

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

  • Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)


🔥 Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Breading Station

  1. Set up 3 bowls:

    • Bowl 1: Flour

    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

    • Bowl 3: Panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper

Step 2: Bread the Mushrooms

  1. Toss mushrooms in flour (shake off excess).

  2. Dip into egg, then coat thoroughly with the panko mixture.

  3. Press gently to help the crumbs stick well.

Step 3: Cook the Bites

  • Deep Frying:

    • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden.

    • Drain on a paper towel–lined plate.

  • Air Fryer:

    • Spray mushrooms lightly with oil and air fry at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Oven-Baked:

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake on a greased or parchment-lined tray for 20–25 minutes, flipping once and spraying with oil for crispiness.

Step 4: (Optional) Garlic Butter Drizzle

  1. Melt butter in a pan over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  2. Drizzle over hot mushrooms and top with fresh parsley.


🍽️ Serve With:

  • Garlic aioli

  • Ranch

  • Spicy sriracha mayo

  • Marinara sauce

  • Use smaller mushrooms for poppable bites.

  • Let mushrooms dry well before breading to help the coating stick.
