🍗 Buffalo Lemon Pepper Wings Recipe

🔥 Flavor Profile:

  • Crispy wings

  • Tangy buffalo sauce

  • Citrusy lemon-pepper coating

  • Optional honey for balance

📝 Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)

  • 1 tbsp baking powder (helps crisp the skin)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

For Lemon Pepper Butter:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning

  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional for extra brightness)

For Buffalo Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar (optional for sweetness)

🍳 Instructions

1. Prep and Bake the Wings (or Air Fry)

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C), or preheat air fryer to 400°F.

  • Pat wings completely dry with paper towels.

  • Toss with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.

  • Bake on a wire rack over a sheet pan for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway.
Air Fry for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.

2. Make the Sauces

  • Lemon Pepper Butter: Melt butter and stir in lemon pepper seasoning and lemon zest.

  • Buffalo Sauce: Melt butter in a pan, add hot sauce and honey. Stir until combined and warmed.

3. Toss & Finish

  • Once wings are done, toss them first in the lemon pepper butter to coat.

  • Then drizzle or toss with buffalo sauce (add to taste).

  • For extra flair, finish with a sprinkle of lemon pepper on top.

🥣 Optional Dips & Sides

  • Ranch or Blue Cheese dressing

  • Celery and carrot sticks

  • Extra lemon wedges

🍋 Pro Tips

  • Want them extra crispy? Let wings air dry uncovered in the fridge overnight.

  • Make them mild by using more butter in the buffalo mix or a milder hot sauce.
