Here’s a classic fried shrimp recipe—crispy, golden, and full of flavor. Perfect for a seafood dinner or appetizer!

🍤 Crispy Fried Shrimp Recipe

🧂 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail on or off)

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs or panko (for extra crunch)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for flavor and color)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Optional dip: Cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or spicy mayo

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep the Shrimp

  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.

  • Season lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Set Up a Breading Station

  • Bowl 1: Flour + salt, pepper, and optional spices

  • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

  • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs or panko

3. Bread the Shrimp

  • Dredge each shrimp in flour, then dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.

  • Place on a tray until ready to fry.

4. Fry the Shrimp

  • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

  • Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—shrimp need space to fry evenly.

  • For extra crispy coating, double-dip: egg → flour → egg → breadcrumbs.

  • Use panko instead of regular breadcrumbs for lighter, crunchier shrimp.
