Chicken potato rolls

Here’s a delicious recipe for Chicken Potato Rolls — crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside. These make a perfect appetizer or snack!


🍗🥔 Chicken Potato Rolls

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or finely chopped

  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 green chili (optional), finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 tsp paprika or red chili powder (optional for heat)

For shaping & coating:

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • Oil for frying


🥣 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, shredded chicken, onion, green chili, cilantro, cumin, pepper, paprika, and salt.

    • Mix until well combined. The texture should be firm enough to shape. If too soft, add a tablespoon of breadcrumbs.

  2. Shape the rolls:

    • Take a portion of the mixture (about 2–3 tbsp) and shape it into a small log or oval (like a croquette or mini roll).

    • Repeat with the rest of the mixture.

  3. Coat the rolls:

    • Dip each roll into beaten egg, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs.

    • For extra crispiness, chill the coated rolls for 20–30 minutes before frying.

  4. Fry:

    • Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.

    • Fry the rolls until golden brown and crispy on all sides (about 3–4 minutes).

    • Remove and drain on paper towels.


🌿 Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve hot with ketchup, garlic sauce, green chutney, or yogurt dip.

  • Great for tea time, party platters, or lunchboxes.


🔄 Optional Variations:

  • Add grated cheese to the filling for a gooey center.

  • Use ground chicken and sauté with spices before mixing for more flavor.

  • Air fry or bake (at 400°F for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway) for a lighter option.
