🍌 Bananas Foster Pudding Recipe
🧾 Ingredients
For the Bananas Foster Sauce:

4 ripe bananas, sliced

4 tbsp unsalted butter

½ cup dark brown sugar

½ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ cup dark rum (or substitute with banana extract + water)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt
For the Pudding:

1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
-
2 ½ cups cold whole milk
-
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
-
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
-
1 box vanilla wafers or butter cookies
Optional Garnishes:

Whipped cream
-
Caramel drizzle
-
Crushed pecans
🥄 Instructions
1. Make the Bananas Foster Sauce

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Add the banana slices and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.

Carefully add rum and vanilla (if using rum, light it with a long lighter for a flambé effect, then let the flames die out).

Cook 1–2 minutes more until sauce is syrupy. Let cool.
2. Prepare the Pudding Base

In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes).

Stir in sweetened condensed milk until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to soft peaks, then fold into pudding mixture.
3. Assemble the Pudding

In a trifle dish or individual cups, layer:

Vanilla wafers

Pudding mixture
-
Spoonfuls of Bananas Foster sauce (with banana slices)

Repeat layers 2–3 times, ending with pudding and sauce.
4. Chill

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
5. Serve

Top with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or pecans before serving if desired.
