Posted on May 21, 2025

You’re combining three epic comfort food ideas — cheesy garlic bread, shrimp, and grilled cheese — into one mouthwatering creation. Here’s a killer recipe for a Cheesy Garlic Bread Shrimp Grilled Cheese Sandwich that delivers crispy, buttery, garlicky goodness with juicy shrimp and melty cheese.

🧄🧀🦐 Cheesy Garlic Bread Shrimp Grilled Cheese

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches):

Garlic Butter Spread:
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or 1 tsp dried

  • Pinch of salt (if butter is unsalted)

  • Optional: 1 tbsp grated Parmesan

Sandwich Fillings:
  • ½ lb (225g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt, pepper, and paprika or chili flakes (to season shrimp)

  • 4 slices thick bread (like sourdough, French bread, or Texas toast)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella

  • ½ cup cheddar or provolone (mix & match as you like)

  • Optional: A little hot sauce or lemon juice for the shrimp

🔥 Instructions:

1. Make Garlic Butter:

  • In a small bowl, mix butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and Parmesan (if using).

  • Set aside or chill briefly.

2. Cook the Shrimp:

  • Toss shrimp with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika or chili flakes.

  • Sauté in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.

  • Remove from heat and optionally squeeze with a bit of lemon.

3. Assemble Sandwiches:

  • Spread garlic butter generously on one side of each bread slice.

  • Place buttered side down on a pan or board.

  • On the inside, layer cheese → cooked shrimp → more cheese.

  • Top with the second slice of bread (buttered side out).

4. Grill It:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.

  • Grill each sandwich 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.

  • Press lightly with a spatula for even crisping.

5. Serve:

  • Slice in half and serve hot. Great with marinara, garlic aioli, or a squeeze of lemon.

🍽️ Pro Tips:

  • Use pre-cooked shrimp to save time (just warm them up with seasoning).

  • Add a slice of tomato or fresh basil for a Caprese twist.

  • Want a spicier kick? Add a smear of sriracha mayo inside.
