Here’s a delicious Homemade Chunky Ice Cream recipe—no fancy machine required unless you want to use one. This version is rich, creamy, and fully customizable with your favorite chunky add-ins like chocolate, cookies, fruit, or nuts.


🍦 Homemade Chunky Ice Cream (No-Churn)

🧾 Ingredients (Makes ~1.5 quarts)

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

🍫 Chunky Add-In Ideas (pick 2–4):

  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos or chocolate chip cookies

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or mini chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup roasted nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts)

  • 1/2 cup caramel or fudge swirls (spooned in)

  • 1/2 cup chopped brownies or cake pieces

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries)

  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut

  • Crushed toffee or candy bars (Snickers, Reese’s, etc.)


🥄 Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream
    In a large mixing bowl, beat the cold heavy cream with a mixer until stiff peaks form (like whipped cream).

  2. Mix the Base
    In a separate bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt.

  3. Combine
    Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture until smooth and fully incorporated. Don’t overmix—keep it fluffy.

  4. Add the Chunky Mix-Ins
    Stir in your desired add-ins. You can mix most into the base and reserve some for layering or sprinkling on top.

  5. Layer (Optional Swirl Effect)
    For swirls (like fudge or fruit), layer the base into a container, spoon the sauce on top, and gently swirl with a knife.

  6. Freeze
    Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container (a loaf pan works great), cover tightly, and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.

  7. Scoop & Enjoy
    Let it sit out for 5 minutes before scooping. Serve as is or with toppings.


🧠 Tips

  • Want extra creaminess? Add 1–2 tbsp of cream cheese to the base.

  • To make it dairy-free, use coconut cream (chilled and whipped) and a vegan condensed milk.

  • Use espresso powder or cocoa in the base for a coffee or chocolate version.
