Orange cake

Here’s a simple and delicious orange cake recipe that’s moist, fluffy, and full of citrus flavor:


🍊 Easy Orange Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup (60ml) fresh orange juice

  • 2 tbsp orange zest (from 1–2 oranges)

  • ½ cup (120ml) plain yogurt or sour cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

(Optional glaze):

  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tbsp orange juice


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or loaf pan.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Cream butter and sugar: In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

  4. Add eggs: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add orange zest and vanilla extract.

  5. Combine wet and dry: Mix in yogurt and orange juice, then slowly add dry ingredients just until combined.

  6. Bake: Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  7. Cool and glaze: Let cool. If using, whisk powdered sugar and orange juice, then drizzle over the cake.
