How to Use Sweet Cloves for Weight Loss

Posted on May 3, 2025
Sweet cloves (commonly just called cloves) are aromatic flower buds used in cooking and traditional medicine. While cloves alone won’t cause weight loss, they can support a healthy weight-loss plan due to their metabolism-boosting, anti-inflammatory, and appetite-regulating properties.

Here’s how you can use cloves effectively to support weight loss:

🌿 1. Clove Tea for Weight Loss

Ingredients:

  • 3–4 whole cloves

  • 1 cup water

  • Optional: cinnamon stick, ginger, or lemon

Instructions:

  • Boil water and add cloves. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.

  • Strain and drink warm, once or twice a day (preferably before meals or in the morning).

Benefits:

  • May help with digestion, reduce bloating, and slightly boost metabolism.

  • Combining with cinnamon or ginger can enhance fat-burning potential.

🌱 2. Clove, Cinnamon & Cumin Mix (Traditional Remedy)

How to make:

  • Dry roast 1 tsp cloves, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, and 1 tsp cumin seeds.

  • Grind into a powder.

  • Take 1/2 tsp of this mix daily, either with warm water or added to tea before breakfast.

Why it works:
This combo is commonly used in Ayurvedic and natural remedies to enhance digestion, control appetite, and support fat metabolism.

⚠️ Precautions & Tips:

  • Don’t overconsume cloves – large amounts can cause liver issues or digestive irritation.

  • Always use whole cloves or fresh powder – avoid clove oil internally unless under medical advice.

  • Best results come with a balanced diet and regular exercise.
