Posted on May 3, 2025

Here’s a simple, satisfying way to enjoy Eggs and Coffee—a timeless breakfast duo that’s both energizing and comforting. Below is a basic guide, plus a few tasty twists if you want to elevate it.

Basic Breakfast: Eggs and Coffee

Ingredients:

For the eggs (choose your style):

  • 2–3 large eggs

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Butter or oil for cooking

For the coffee:

  • 1–2 tbsp ground coffee (medium grind)

  • 8 oz hot water (just off the boil, ~200°F / 93°C)

  • Cream, milk, sugar, or preferred sweetener (optional)

Egg Preparation Ideas:

  1. Scrambled:

    • Beat eggs with a pinch of salt.

    • Cook low and slow in butter, stirring constantly, for creamy curds.

  2. Fried:

    • Heat oil or butter over medium heat.

    • Crack in eggs and cook sunny-side up, over-easy, or over-hard.

  3. Boiled:

    • Soft-boiled: 6 minutes.

    • Hard-boiled: 9–12 minutes.

    • Peel and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Poached:

    • Crack eggs into simmering water with a splash of vinegar.

    • Cook 3–4 minutes until whites are set and yolks are runny.

Coffee Brewing Methods (Pick One):

  • Drip Coffee Maker: Classic, hands-off method.

  • French Press: Rich and bold. Steep 4 minutes, then plunge.

  • Pour-Over: Clean and smooth; pour in slow circles over grounds.

  • Espresso or Moka Pot: Intense and concentrated.

Fun Variations:

  • Add cheese, herbs, or hot sauce to your eggs.

  • Try a cappuccino, latte, or cold brew instead of regular coffee.

  • Pair with toast, avocado, or breakfast sausage for a full plate.
