Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Posted on May 1, 2025
Poaching eggs in an air fryer is a surprisingly simple method that gives you soft, runny yolks with tender whites—without boiling water or vinegar. While it’s not a traditional poach, the result is very close and super convenient.

Air Fryer Poached Eggs

What You’ll Need:

  • Eggs (as many as will fit in your air fryer safely)

  • Ramekins or silicone muffin cups

  • Cooking spray or a little oil

  • Hot water

  • Air fryer

Instructions:

  1. Prep the ramekins or silicone cups:

    • Lightly spray with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

    • Add about 2 tablespoons of hot water to each ramekin or muffin cup.

  2. Crack the eggs:

    • Crack one egg into each prepared ramekin or cup.

  3. Air fry:

    • Carefully place the ramekins into the air fryer basket.

    • Set to 340–350°F (170–175°C) and cook for 5 to 6 minutes for runny yolks.

    • For firmer yolks, cook 1–2 minutes longer.

  4. Check for doneness:

    • Whites should be set and yolks should jiggle slightly.

    • If the whites are still runny, air fry in 30-second increments.

  5. Remove and serve:

    • Carefully lift out the ramekins.

    • Use a spoon to lift the egg out of the water.

    • Gently pat dry with a paper towel and serve.

Tips:

  • Preheating the air fryer isn’t necessary but can improve consistency.

  • Use hot (not boiling) water to speed up the cooking process and mimic poaching conditions.

  • These are great for topping avocado toast, grain bowls, or eggs Benedict.
