Maple Glazed Cookies
Ingredients:
For the cookies:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp pure maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon or chopped pecans for added warmth/nutty texture
For the maple glaze:

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

3 tbsp pure maple syrup

1–2 tbsp milk or cream (adjust for desired consistency)

Pinch of salt

Optional: 1/4 tsp maple extract for a more intense maple flavor
Instructions:

Make the cookies:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt (and cinnamon, if using).

Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet until just combined. Do not overmix.

Drop spoonfuls (about 1.5 tablespoons) onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set.

Cool on a wire rack.

Make the glaze:

Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon of milk.

Add more milk as needed for a smooth, pourable glaze.

Add a pinch of salt and optional maple extract.

Drizzle or dip cooled cookies in glaze.

Let set for 15–30 minutes.

These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to 5 days and freeze beautifully (unglazed or glazed).
