πŸ§„πŸ§€ Cheesy Texas Toast

🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

  • 1 loaf Texas toast bread (or thick-cut white bread, about 8 slices)

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)

  • 1Β½ cups (150 g) shredded mozzarella

  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack (optional mix for extra flavor)

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

  • Salt, to taste

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.

  2. Make the garlic butter:

    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic and a pinch of salt.

  3. Prepare the bread:

    • Spread garlic butter generously over each slice of bread.

    • Place on the baking sheet, buttered side up.

  4. Add cheese:

    • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella (and cheddar, if using) on each slice.

  5. Bake:

    • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    • For a golden top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end β€” but watch closely to prevent burning.

  6. Serve:

    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot!

πŸ”„ Variations:

  • Add a pinch of crushed red pepper or Italian seasoning for extra flavor.

  • Use garlic herb butter or even a touch of pesto for a twist.
