Classic Cherry Delight

A Classic Cherry Delight is a vintage-style, no-bake dessert that’s rich, creamy, and topped with a vibrant cherry pie filling. It has a graham cracker crust, a sweet cream cheese layer, and is super easy to put together — perfect for potlucks or family gatherings.


Classic Cherry Delight Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 10–12 crackers)

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

For the Topping:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling


Instructions:

  1. Make the Crust:

    • In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with sugar and melted butter until fully combined.

    • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9 inch dish (or a similar size).

    • Chill in the fridge for about 15–20 minutes while you prepare the filling.

  2. Prepare the Cream Layer:

    • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

    • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.

    • Fold in the whipped topping gently until smooth and fluffy.

  3. Assemble the Dessert:

    • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust.

    • Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top, spreading gently to cover.

  4. Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

    • Cut into squares and serve cold.


This dessert can be made a day in advance and keeps well in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
