Turmeric Tea

Turmeric Tea — also known as golden tea or haldi chai — is a warm, soothing drink packed with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. It’s perfect for winding down, supporting digestion, or boosting your immune system.

Here’s a simple and delicious way to make it:


Turmeric Tea (Golden Tea)

Ingredients (makes 2 cups):

  • 2 cups water (or milk of choice for creamier version)

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, grated)

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger (or fresh ginger, sliced)

  • Pinch of black pepper (helps your body absorb curcumin, the active compound in turmeric!)

  • Optional:

    • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (to sweeten)

    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

    • 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee (for richness and better absorption)

    • A splash of lemon juice (for brightness)


🫖 Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water (or milk) to a gentle simmer.

  2. Add turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and any optional ingredients.

  3. Simmer for 5–10 minutes to let the flavors infuse.

  4. Strain into a mug (especially if using fresh turmeric/ginger).

  5. Stir in sweetener to taste and enjoy warm!


Tips:

  • Use almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk for a creamy latte-style turmeric tea.

  • Add a pinch of cardamom or nutmeg for an even cozier flavor.

  • Drink it before bed for a calming, grounding ritual.
