Champignons Panés Croustillants

Ooooh yes — Champignons Panés Croustillants 🤌🇫🇷 (aka Crispy Breaded Mushrooms) — the kind of snack or appetizer that disappears in minutes. Golden on the outside, juicy and savory inside, perfect with a garlic aioli, herby dip, or just a sprinkle of flaky salt. Let’s make it classy and snackable.


Champignons Panés Croustillants (Crispy Breaded Mushrooms)

Ingrédients (for about 4 servings):

  • 300–400g mushrooms (button or cremini work best), cleaned and stems trimmed

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • ½ cup (60g) flour

  • 1 cup (100g) breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch, or regular)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for depth)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

  • Oil spray or a little neutral oil (for frying or air frying)


Option 1: Pan-Fried Version

  1. Prep Breading Station:

    • Bowl 1: Flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder)

    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

    • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs

  2. Coat Mushrooms:

    • Dredge mushrooms in flour → dip in egg → roll in breadcrumbs. Press lightly to make it stick.

  3. Fry:

    • Heat oil in a pan (~1 cm deep).

    • Fry mushrooms in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown (about 4–5 minutes).

    • Remove and drain on paper towels.


Option 2: Air Fryer Version (healthier & just as crispy)

  1. Follow same breading process.

  2. Preheat air fryer to 390°F / 200°C.

  3. Spray mushrooms with oil or cooking spray.

  4. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.


Dipping Sauce Ideas:

  • Garlic Aioli: Mayo + minced garlic + lemon juice

  • Herbed Yogurt Dip: Greek yogurt + dill + lemon zest + chives

  • Spicy Option: Sriracha mayo or chipotle sauce


Pair it with…

A chilled glass of white wine, sparkling water with lemon, or serve as a luxe party appetizer with a little toothpick flair.
