Pineapple Dream Dessert

Posted on April 23, 2025

Ooooh yes — Pineapple Dream Dessert is that retro, no-bake, creamy-crunchy sunshine-in-a-pan vibe we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) love.  It’s super easy, perfect for potlucks, BBQs, or whenever you need a tropical treat with minimal effort.

 Pineapple Dream Dessert

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional)

Filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 (8 oz) tub Cool Whip or whipped topping

  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained well

 Instructions:

  1. Make the crust:

    • Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar.

    • Press firmly into a 9×9 or 9×13 dish (depending on how thick you want your layers).

    • Chill in the fridge while you prep the filling.

  2. Make the filling:

    • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy.

    • Add powdered sugar and beat again.

    • Fold in Cool Whip and the well-drained crushed pineapple. (Too much juice = a runny dessert, so really squeeze it!)

  3. Assemble:

    • Spread the pineapple mixture evenly over the crust.

    • Optional: sprinkle extra graham crumbs or crushed nuts on top for a little flair.

  4. Chill:

    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best for slicing clean squares).

 Optional Add-ons:

  • Coconut flakes folded into the filling or sprinkled on top

  • Chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch

  • Maraschino cherry garnish for that retro diner look

  • Use vanilla wafer crumbs or crushed shortbread cookies instead of graham crust
