Million Dollar Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
-
1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
-
3 cups granulated sugar
-
6 large eggs, room temperature
-
4 cups all-purpose flour
-
¾ cup whole milk
-
1 teaspoon almond extract (optional, but recommended)
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.
-
Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
-
Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition until light and creamy (about 5–7 minutes total).
-
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
-
Alternately add flour and milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix each addition just until incorporated — do not overmix.
-
Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
-
Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
-
This cake is dense and moist, perfect for slicing and serving with berries, whipped cream, or a glaze.
-
It stores beautifully — wrap it well and it keeps for days, and it freezes like a dream.
