Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes

Posted on April 5, 2025
Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes are a simple, delicious, and healthier alternative to traditional fried potatoes! The air fryer gives them a crispy, golden texture on the outside while keeping them soft and tender inside, with far less oil. You can season them however you like to make them as flavorful as you want!

Here’s a quick and easy recipe for Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes:

Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium potatoes (Russet, Yukon Gold, or your favorite type of potato)

  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil (or spray with olive oil cooking spray)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Potatoes:

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them if you prefer (or leave the skin on for extra texture and nutrients).

  • Slice the potatoes into thin rounds, about 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch thick. Try to keep them uniform in thickness for even cooking.

2. Season the Potatoes:

  • In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil (or spray them lightly with olive oil spray).

  • Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, rosemary, and salt and pepper to the bowl. Toss everything together until the potato slices are well coated in the oil and seasoning.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer (if needed):

  • Some air fryers need to be preheated, so if yours does, set it to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 3-5 minutes.

4. Air Fry the Potatoes:

  • Arrange the seasoned potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches if your air fryer is small—don’t overcrowd the basket for the crispiest results.

  • Air fry the potatoes at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.

  • Keep an eye on them, as cooking times can vary depending on the thickness of the slices and the model of your air fryer. The potatoes should be golden and crispy when done.

5. Serve:

  • Once the potatoes are cooked to your desired crispiness, remove them from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh parsley (if desired) for a pop of color.

  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, or enjoy as a side dish with steak, chicken, or burgers!

Tips:

  • Even Slices: Try to slice the potatoes as evenly as possible for consistent cooking. You can use a mandoline slicer for even slices.

  • Seasoning Variations: Feel free to experiment with different spices and seasonings! You can add parmesan cheese, oregano, chili powder, or cajun seasoning for different flavors.

  • Crispiness: If you prefer your slices extra crispy, increase the cooking time by a few minutes and make sure not to overcrowd the basket.

  • Make Ahead: You can prep the sliced and seasoned potatoes ahead of time, store them in the fridge for up to a day, and air fry them when you’re ready to eat.

Serving Suggestions:

  • These crispy, flavorful slices make a perfect snack, side dish, or appetizer. Pair them with a dipping sauce like ketchup, ranch dressing, sour cream, or a spicy aioli.

  • They go great alongside any main meal, whether you’re serving grilled chicken, steak, or even vegetarian dishes like roasted vegetables.

With the air fryer, you get all the crispy goodness of fries but with much less oil, making these Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes a healthier alternative that still delivers on taste and texture!

Are you planning to make these for a meal or just a quick snack?
