Posted on March 27, 2025
Here’s a simple and flavorful Sautéed Mushroom and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe that’s quick to prepare and perfect for a healthy meal!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or any cooking oil of choice)

  • 1 cup mushrooms (button, cremini, or your choice), sliced

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, or more soy sauce)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional, for extra flavor)

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the vegetables:

    • Slice the mushrooms and set them aside.

    • Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. If using frozen broccoli, you can thaw it before or use it straight from the freezer.

  2. Heat the oil:

    • In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

  3. Sauté the garlic and onion:

    • Add the minced garlic (and onion, if using) to the pan and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant and softened.

  4. Cook the mushrooms:

    • Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture and become golden brown.

  5. Add the broccoli:

    • Add the broccoli florets to the pan. Stir to combine with the mushrooms.

    • If you’re using fresh broccoli, cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until it’s tender but still vibrant. If you’re using frozen broccoli, you can cook for 3-4 minutes, just to heat through.

  6. Season the stir-fry:

    • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and grated ginger to the pan. Stir everything together.

    • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired) to taste.

  7. Finish and serve:

    • Cook everything for another 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

    • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top before serving.

Tips:

  • For extra protein, you can add tofu, chicken, or shrimp to the stir-fry.

  • For more flavor, feel free to add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or lime juice right before serving.

  • This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, or noodles.

Enjoy your sautéed mushroom and broccoli stir-fry! Let me know if you need any variations or additional tips!
