Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
-
2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (preferably freshly grated)
-
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
-
1/2 cup chicken broth (or white wine for extra flavor)
-
4 cloves garlic (minced)
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
-
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
-
Prep the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
-
Cook the Chicken: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes per side or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. -
Make the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add 1 tablespoon of butter.
Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the chicken broth (or white wine) and let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly. -
Add the Cream and Parmesan: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
Add the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning (if using). Stir until the sauce thickens and the cheese is fully melted, about 3-4 minutes.
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed. -
Return the Chicken: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the top. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
-
Garnish and Serve: Garnish the chicken with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Serving Suggestions:
-
Serve with pasta (like fettuccine, spaghetti, or penne) for a comforting meal. The creamy sauce works wonderfully with pasta!
-
Mashed potatoes or rice are also great options for soaking up the creamy sauce.
-
Pair with steamed vegetables like broccoli or green beans for a well-rounded meal.
Tips:
-
For extra richness, you can add a splash of cream cheese to the sauce, making it even creamier.
-
If the sauce gets too thick, simply add a bit more chicken broth or cream to thin it out to your desired consistency.
-
Make it spicy: If you like a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the sauce.
This dish is perfect for a date night, family dinner, or just when you’re craving something creamy and comforting. Enjoy your Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken!
