Soothing Honey Lemon Ginger Tea
Ingredients:
-
1 tablespoon raw honey (has antibacterial and soothing properties)
-
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (helps break down mucus)
-
1/2-inch fresh ginger root (anti-inflammatory and helps clear the throat)
-
Hot water (helps loosen up congestion)
-
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, helps thin mucus)
Instructions:
-
Boil water: Start by boiling about 1-2 cups of water.
-
Prepare the ginger: Slice the ginger into thin pieces or grate it. Add it to the hot water to steep for 5-10 minutes.
-
Add honey and lemon: Once the water has cooled a bit (so it’s not scalding), stir in the honey and lemon juice. The honey soothes your throat, while lemon helps clear mucus.
-
Optional boost: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper if you want some extra heat to loosen congestion (this is optional, but it works for some people!).
-
Sip slowly and feel it work its magic.
This combination helps with throat irritation, loosens mucus, and can help quiet down a cough. You can drink it 2-3 times a day.
What do you think? Would this work for you, or do you have a specific type of cough in mind?
