Easy Peach Dumplings

Posted on March 2, 2025
Easy Peach Dumplings are a sweet and delightful treat that combines tender dough with juicy, cinnamon-spiced peaches. This is a quick, shortcut recipe using biscuit dough or crescent roll dough, so it’s perfect when you want something indulgent without a lot of fuss.

Here’s a simple recipe for Easy Peach Dumplings:

Easy Peach Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large peaches (peeled, pitted, and cut into halves)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (or crescent roll dough)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Peaches
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish (about 9×9 inches or similar).
  2. Peel, pit, and slice the peaches in half. Set them aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Dumpling Dough
  1. Open the can of biscuit dough (or crescent roll dough) and separate the pieces. If using biscuits, flatten each piece of dough into a small circle with your hands or a rolling pin, enough to wrap around a peach half. If using crescent roll dough, simply use one triangle for each half peach.
Step 3: Assemble the Dumplings
  1. Place a peach half in the center of each dough circle or triangle. Gently fold the dough around the peach, pinching the edges to seal it into a little package (or dumpling).
  2. Arrange the dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
Step 4: Make the Syrup
  1. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add water and vanilla extract (if using) to the mixture and stir to combine.
Step 5: Bake the Dumplings
  1. Pour the syrup evenly over the assembled dumplings in the baking dish.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the syrup is bubbly and thickened.
Step 6: Serve
  1. Let the dumplings cool slightly before serving. You can spoon some of the syrup over the top for extra sweetness.
  2. These dumplings are delicious on their own or served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Canned Peaches: If you don’t have fresh peaches, you can use canned peaches (drained) instead. Just make sure they are ripe or in syrup for the best flavor.
  • Add a Twist: For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) on top before baking or add a dash of ginger to the syrup mixture.
  • Golden Crust: Brush the dough with a little bit of melted butter before baking for an extra golden, crispy crust.

These Peach Dumplings are soft, sweet, and comforting, with the perfect balance of flaky dough and cinnamon-sugary peach filling. They make a great dessert or even a fun breakfast treat!
