Sliced Baked Potatoes

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Sliced Baked Potatoes that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Perfect as a side dish or snack!

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes (or any potatoes you prefer)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Prepare the potatoes:

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and dry them with a towel. You can leave the skins on for added texture and flavor.
  • Slice the potatoes into thin rounds (about ¼ inch thick), trying to keep the slices as even as possible.

3. Season the potatoes:

  • Place the sliced potatoes in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil (or melted butter). Toss to coat evenly.
  • Add the garlic powder, paprika, dried rosemary (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss again until the potatoes are evenly seasoned.

4. Arrange on the baking sheet:

  • Lay the sliced potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they aren’t overlapping too much for the best crispiness.

5. Bake the potatoes:

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through. The potatoes should be golden brown and crispy on the edges, and tender in the middle.
  • If you want extra crispiness, you can broil the potatoes for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.

6. Garnish and serve:

  • Once done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve immediately!

Tips:

  • You can also add grated Parmesan cheese on top of the potatoes for a cheesy, crispy finish.
  • For a spicy kick, sprinkle some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes along with the seasoning.
  • To make these even more indulgent, you could top them with sour cream, bacon bits, or shredded cheese after baking.
